MRS DARLINGTONS

Traditional farm-house recipes handed down through three generations, Mrs Darlington’s Preserves have been made in Cheshire, England for over 40 years.

Mrs Darlington’s Lemon Curd is where it all started and it’s nothing short of legendary. Marion Darlington began making batches of her family recipe more than four decades ago in the farmhouse kitchen as a way of using up surplus eggs. She took her hand-crafted product to local retailers while on her egg delivery rounds and was soon inundated with requests from customers who were won over by the unique taste of her zingy preserve.

The range gradually expanded as the business grew – her mother’s Sweet Apple Chutney was one of the first additions, along with Orange Marmalade, Lime Curd and Orange Curd. Luckily, a local pickles maker was on hand to sell Marion empty jars for her new products.

Today, the Mrs Darlington’s range includes nearly 100 products, sold in over 3000 outlets in the UK and many more around the globe. With Marion’s daughter Sarah working in the business, it’s safe to say that this is still a family business through and through. As the beautiful labels say, these gorgeous curds, jams, marmalades, pickles, chutneys, sauces, and jellies truly are ‘made with love’.
